Did you know? Only a tiny fraction of each philanthropic dollar is put to work to fight global warming.
Where does the money go?
Statistics Canada Data 2006

Global warming affects all these sectors
| Note: In its category “Environment”, Statistics Canada includes animal protection groups. Therefore the amount actually going to Environment is closer to one penny per dollar. When we drill down further, donations to fight global warming are immeasurably small, a fraction of a cent. |
No Time to Waste
We Can Do More Than Have Buildings Named After Us
“Global warming is real, it’s happening and we’re causing it.” As philanthropists, we can do more than have buildings named after us. We don’t have any more time to waste on research. In fact, leading climate change academics agree we have enough research and studies, what is needed now is strong policies at the government level.
“Warming of the climate system is unequivocal”. If we’re going to have a building named after us, let’s ensure it is for a donation being directed to fight global warming today. |
